Therapeutic Ultrasound is used
in chiropractic to increase extensibility, flexibility, and to
increase membrane permeability of the muscles,
ligaments, and
connective tissues. It is also used to break up scar tissue and
adhesions.
Ultrasound
is a tissue heating modality which increases healing by collagen
formation and scar tissue reduction.
We choose our protocols based
upon each patient’s specific condition and overall needs in order
to restore function.
Ultrasound therapy can reduce pain and increase
range of motion in the joints. It is typically used before active
rehabilitation exercises.
Deep
or superficial heat is generated by micro vibrations in the tissue.
It uses sympathetic crystals to maintain low
BNR (Beam non-uniformity
ratio) rate.
Our office uses ultrasound therapy to enhance overall
sports performance as well for our athletes.
