Dr. Wise and his highly trained staff use a variety of techniques in addition to decompression depending on your specific condition and circumstance. Through the use of our Cox flexion/ distraction technique, we are able to safely treat patients that suffer from various conditions such as osteoarthritis or osteoporosis (brittle bone disease). Conventional spinal adjustments also are used very regularly by the doctors at Wise Chiropractic as are numerous other “passive” therapies.
LUMBAR AND CERVICAL STABILIZATION EXERCISES
This phase of the treatment is probably the most important and often the most overlooked! Through extensive research, it has been proven that a regimen of very specific “core muscle” stabilizing exercises can mean the difference between either long term success or continued chronic injury.
By using the Chattanooga Bio-feedback Stabilizer we are able to strengthen very specific muscle groups (intrinsic, core muscles) which act to stabilize the spine. This exercise protocol can be done by everyone and is performed in the comfortable atmosphere of our rehab center. When the patient’s condition is determined stable, the doctor will then give instruction on continuing a stabilizing program at home. This too, is very important in allowing the patient to return to a pain-free lifestyle.
A Non-Surgical Highly Effective Solution for Disc Pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Decompression therapy is a non-surgical procedure that effectively treats disabling low back, neck and radiating arm and leg pain.
The conditions that have been found to respond very favorably to this treatment include disc herniations and bulges, degenerative discs, spondylolisthesis and facet syndromes to name a few. This is accomplished by reducing the pressure (creating a negative pressure) around the spinal discs and facet joints through unloading created by distraction and positioning.
Decompression therapy effectively enhances the healing process and renders quick, effective and amazing pain relief that enables most patients to return to a more active lifestyle.
This technique has been highly researched by prominent physicians, engineers and technicians at major teaching hospitals.

Failed back surgery patients can often benefit greatly and “get back to life” following a course of decompression therapy.
Decompression Therapy begins with a series of sessions typically 3-4 times per week for no more than 4 weeks. These sessions generally last 10-12 minutes followed by electric stimulation and ultrasound which aid the muscles and ligaments.

Decompression Therapy is a highly successful, conservative treatment for patients suffering from bulging ,herniated, degenerative, or ruptured discs. This treatment has also been found to successfully relieve sciatica (leg pain), as well as pain resulting from carpal tunnel syndrome.
Your doctor will likely incorporate a very specific “core muscle stabilizing” exercise program as soon as you are able to tolerate it.
